About the organization
Jairos Jiri Association is a big local NGO in Zimbabwe which seeks to recruit an outstanding and result oriented Finance Executive. Jairos Jiri Association mainly focus on, rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Jairos Jiri Association also focus on Business Enterprise and Resource mobilization – Giving trends have shifted in the last 15years in Zimbabwe. Coupled with a non performing economy, it is now difficult for JJA to maintain resource levels of the 1980s and 1990s. Despite this, JJA is a credible and accountable organization. These values together with well-grounded business strategies will be leveraged on to generate funding. The emphasis will be to make JJA an income generating organization and minimize the running of the Association from external resources. The organization also focus on representation of PWD- JJA sees its continued role as that of taking head on cultural barriers facing PWDs so as to transform behaviours of the community towards people with disabilities.
About the job
The Finance Executive will assist the Factory Manager/ Supervisor to oversee, track and report against all financial management and tracking of activities implemented under the Zimunya factory and Sawmill Project. He/she will also ensure that all financial transactions and reporting are in compliance with Jairos Jiri Association policies and processes and in compliance with local law. S/he will also be responsible for tasks related to office administration, logistics, and procurement as deemed necessary for activity implementation, roll-out, and support.

To ensure that the association is financially liquid and adequately financed through the establishment and implementation of sound financial policies to sustain its operations; To assist centres/units/programmes to come up with and to prepare realistic annual, short/long term budgets- general and specific; To ensure the preparation of the amalgamated budgets for the whole association and ensuring their approval by the National Executive Committee; To carryout monitoring and evaluation of the units/center, programme operations through the assessment of their financial performance done through their monthly returns/ financial statements/trial balances/ bank statements and assessing these against the approved budgets; To carry out other assessment by monitoring through visits to the branches for unit programmes; To ensure accountability within the Association’s work through the methods which would include the annual audit by independent auditors and internal checks; To establish adequate control systems and procedures for funds management through the continuous update of financial Management Manual and ensuring that such systems are compiled with consistently; To ensure that all statutory and non-statutory financial returns are compiled and submitted to relevant institutions eg donors, government ministries, central statistical office etc.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in the Accounting or equivalent; 3 years or more experience of working with multiple currency in an NGO; Computer literate in Pastel, MS Word, Power Point and Access; A team player; Meticulous and results oriented; Strong report writing skills; Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills across rank; Ability to set and meet deadlines.
