Job Summary

Our client has an opportunity available for an HR Officer for the Company based in Harare. This role will be responsible for providing support in the various human resources functions, which include payroll, employee relations and recruitment & selection, training, performance management and others.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Developing the company’s HR procedures and policies in relation to staff.
•Act as first port of call to employees for all HR related queries.
•Handle the employee staff files / documentation, maintain and update employee records, contracts, and recruitment paperwork.
•Full recruitment and selection process.
•Assist with payroll administration
•Record keeping / updating of staff files.
•Loading of new staff onto HR system.
•Dealing with Workmen’s Compensation issues (filling out injury forms and submitting yearly Workmen’s Compensation assessment and requesting Letter of Good Standing).
•Training and development of staff.
•Provide support to employees in various HR-related areas
•Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly
•Gather and analyse data with useful HR metrics,
•Timeous and accurate documentation submission to the payroll department as per the HR calendar
•Compile HR Budget
•Produce and submit reports on HR activities
•Coordinate approved Employee Wellness Programmes
Attend to all IR issues
•Provide Sound Labour Relations advice and Support to Management
Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Human Resources or related qualification (essential)
• At least 5 years experience
• Experience with both SAP and Belina is a must
• Experience in an FMCG is a clear advantage
• Strong IR background
• At least 5 years’ experience as an HR Officer (essential)
• Well experienced in conflict management in the workplace
• Must be able to work independently
• Effective HR administration and people management skills
• Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Fantastic organizational, time management and Priority Setting skills
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Good knowledge of NECs and Labour legislation
