Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
? Use audit software to develop scripts / supplementary programmes which may not
be available in the software, where these are needed to perform specialized audit
functions e.g. identifying and reporting exceptions in specific groups of
transactions.
? Use audit software to perform audits of high risk transactions, e.g. supplier
payments, movements in and out of the payroll, etc.
? Identify and evaluate risks in the University’s I.T. systems,
? Examine and evaluate general I.T. controls in all the University’s I.T. Systems,
? Evaluate extent to which I.T. Systems adequately satisfy operational requirements
and identify essential improvements,
? Use audit software to check and evaluate the integrity of data held in different
applications,
? Evaluate the strength of the University’s computer systems against cyber threats
and crimes,
? Train other members of audit staff in matters relating to the auditing of I.T. systems,
including the use of software, and,
? Generate reports on results of I.T. audits for presentation to the Chief Internal Auditor
Qualifications And Experience
The position requires an individual with:-
? A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Business
Studies with Computing Science
? An I.T. Auditing qualifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor, (CISA)
or similar certifications.
? A Masters’ degree being an added advantage.
? At least four years’ experience in the auditing of information systems.
