Copywriters are responsible for writing compelling messages for our clients. These messages will be on materials ranging from product packaging and labels to brochures and blog posts to email copy etc. In addition, copywriters help define brand voice and ensure that all copy is consistent with this voice by writing, editing, and proofing materials from art directors to ensure that their clients’ desired message and image are conveyed to consumers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Writing clear, attractive, solid and award-winning copy with a distinct voice for our clients
Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements as well as distil all client documents and briefs to advise the creation of copy that is concise in producing work that meets client expectations
Make sure that each headline is creative and can hold the attention of our client's customers in less than five words
make sure that the body copy emphasises the benefits rather than the features
make sure that copy relates to the visual
make sure that your headline and body copy tells the brand story and has a concept
make sure that your copy highlights the product selling points
make sure that your copy focuses on the customer and not on the business
make sure that your copy uses correct grammar and spellings
make sure that your copy is on-brand and uses the proper tone of voice for each client, and when necessary, make sure that your copy ends with a clear call to action.
Make sure your copy should be able to put across your point in a concise, creative manner without being too wordy, repetitive, lengthy and using unnecessary fluffy words.
Your copy should attract and grab attention using wordplay, i.e.:- 1. Twist on a familiar phrase 2. Pun 3. Metaphor, 4. Simile 5. Rhyme etc
Collaborate with designers, art directors and other professionals on large- and small-scale projects to assess project needs and help with messaging so that we produce award-winning work.
Edit and proofread copy as needed to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs and ensure that all artwork has been proofread and signed off before being shared with the client
Use SEO principles to maximise copy’s reach on all digital campaigns
Stay up to date on current trends and competitors within the editorial sphere
Create copy aligned with client tone of voice as guided by the client style scape
Creating concept notes in collaboration with art directors
Create rationales for all big projects in partnership with art directors
Qualifications and Experience
