JOB TITLE: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (4) LOCATION: Binga, Nkayi, Hwange, Lupane CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term Organisational Background The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP) is a leading local NGO involved in development and relief (emergency) work in rural communities in Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands provinces. It exists to fight all forms of poverty among the rural and urban grassroots communities of disadvantaged women, men and youth through the empowerment of people by facilitating their development in their diverse cultural contexts. The vacancy for the upcoming USAID funded Amalima Loko Project which is part of a CNFA-led consortium. Project Summary The vacancy for the upcoming USAID funded Amalima Loko Project which is part of a CNFA-led consortium. The project seeks to improve food security through increased food access and sustainable watershed management. Its purposes are P1: Enhanced and inclusive local ownership over food security and resilience planning and development, P2: Watershed management improved, P3: Adaptive and absorptive capacity improved. Position summary The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer for ORAP will be responsible for the implementation of the organisational and program M&E system to ensure program meet the set targets and is implemented in line with the organisation, partner and donor requirements. The MEL Officer will be assigned to the USAID funded Amalima Loko project covering Lupane, Hwange, Nkayi and Binga districts. The Officer will be responsible of tracking programme performance at district level and coordinate the district reporting function as well as facilitating various surveys aimed at informing project and organisational decision making. Major Duties/Responsibilities include:- Ensuring collection of quality data for all program indicators and its entry into designated databases Compiling and consolidation of district reports and ensuring their timely submission. Documenting of program successes and lessons for improvement Capacitating district project staff and other stakeholder on M&E expectations and accountability standards and guidelines Performing any other work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor

Work/Educational Requirements

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development or equivalent Experience: Technical skills: Academic and/or direct programming experience and expertise in any of the following computer packages Excel, SPSS, STATA, NVIVO etc. Able to write good reports and data collection using digital platforms such as ODK, Kobo collect, Magpi etc Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience in Monitoring and Evaluating Food Security and Community Development projects, especially with USAID funding Knowledge of agricultural, livelihood, and/or food security indicators is preferred Experience with international donor projects required, experience with USAID and Food for Peace preferred Strong data analysis and report writing skills required, knowledge of local languages (Ndebele, Tonga, Nambya) preferred Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience: High computer literacy and proficiency in statistical packages Comprehensive report writing skills for both internal and external use
