Duties and Responsibilities
? Direct and manage the Legal & Corporate Affairs functions in line with business requirements.
? Provide leadership and development of Legal and Corporate Affairs.
? Ensure a corporate governance framework is in place and effectively implemented and that the company adheres to and complies with statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
? Ensure that legal and compliance risks are managed adequately through appropriate systems, teams/functions and processes.
? Conduct compliance monitoring and ensuring that the compliance framework within the business is comprehensive, robust and implemented
? Manage the Legal and Corporate Affairs budget and ensure alignment to the company’s business.
? Engage outside counsel on complex legal issues, supervise and coordinate all work sent to external law firms.
? Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to the senior management team and develop legal strategies and solutions, often in situations of high risk within limited time for assessing alternatives.
? Handle all legal matters on behalf of the organization including agreements with other parties, treaties and general adherence to contract requirements.
? Identify reviews of legislation and regulatory guidelines and their impact in the operations of Zimpost (Pvt) Ltd.
? Provide pragmatic and effective legal advice to manage legal risk across the business and ensure best practices are adopted, guidelines are complied with, and that all activities comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
? Develop and implement legal policies and documentation.
? Provide efficient and effective secretarial services to the Board of Directors, including preparation of Board fees and maintenance of proper records for remuneration, attendance registers and resolutions, before advising staff.
? Actively participate in executive committee meetings, guiding senior management on legal issues.

Qualifications and Experience
? A University Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience of which 3 must be at the Management level covering Legal and Company Secretarial work.
? Post-Graduate Qualification e.g. Masters in Law or equivalent. Professional Qualification e.g. CIS will be an added advantage.
? Must be a registered Legal Practitioner. With competencies in handling high volume of contract reviews and drafting.
? Demonstrable evidence of having worked in a role requiring extensive and continuous interaction with various internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of organizational strategy.
