Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which
has arisen in the Fleet Maintenance Department at Cailogistics (Private) Limited. The
Incumbent will be based in Harare and Bulawayo.
THE JOB
Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance manager, the successful applicants will among other key
challenging aspects be responsible for:
? Implementing the company’s Fleet maintenance strategy in line with the overall business
strategy.
? Developing annual vehicle service plan and implements the same.
? Ensuring implementation of structures, policies, procedures and practices (e.g. regular
meetings) that reflect good corporate governance.
? Coordinating the development of the departmental budget annual, the reviews and ensures
the expenditure is within the budget lines.
? Ensuring proper management and control of company assets.
? Inspecting completed jobs to ensure high level of workmanship on all jobs undertaken by
subordinates.
? Ensuring that key roles are staffed with people who can effectively undertake their roles in
the business and that the roles are clearly defined and understood and all personnel are
motivated and developed to achieve the business objectives.
? Producing periodic business performance reports and presentation to the Fleet Maintenance
Manager and where applicable proffer performance improvement plans.
? Conducting investigations on accident damaged vehicles and property through the
investigation committee/s.
? Inspecting vehicles to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements within the area of
responsibility e.g. VID and that the company does not get involved in anything illegal where
these areas are concerned.
THE PERSON
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
? Incumbent should be an Apprentice trained Artisan with at least five years post apprentice
experience.
? Be in possession of 5 “O” Levels, including English, Maths, and Science at Grade C or better.
? Good communication, reporting and presentation skills.
? Demonstratable supervisory skills
? Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
? Be able to diagnose technical problems, provide expert solutions and training.
? Sound computer proficiency.
