TRANSPORT, LOGISTICS AND WORKSHOPS MANAGER A vacancy has arisen at a reputable timber company for a suitably qualified candidate for the above position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of heavy forestry equipment as well as managing the transportation of both raw materials and products. REPORTING STRUCTURE Reporting To: Operations Manager JOB DESCRIPTION • Planning routes and load scheduling for branch deliveries. • Allocating and monitoring truck movements across the branch networks. • Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices with transporters. • Implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance system on all equipment • Leading the overall activities of the workshops department to ensure that the fleet and equipment is available, dependable and safe at all times. • Manpower management of all workshop teams, drivers and equipment operators.

Work/Educational Requirements

a) Relevant qualification in Transport and Logistics or Mobile Equipment Engineering. Experience ) At least 5 years' experience in Transport and Logistics. b) Experience in workshop planning and management. c) Hands-on experience on vehicle maintenance is a requirement d) Knowledge of Forestry Mobile Equipment is an added advantage.
