CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
Location: Harare, Zimbabwe | Full-Time
A well-established and growing Fintech company is seeking an experienced, strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership and strengthen the organisation’s financial governance, controls and reporting framework.

THE ROLE

The CFO will provide strategic leadership across the finance function, ensuring sound financial management, robust internal controls, accurate and timely reporting, regulatory compliance and effective financial decision-making. The CFO will be reporting to the CEO and will be working closely with the Senior Management Team, and the Board of Directors to drive the financial strategy of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Executive Management.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management.
• Ensure accurate, timely and insightful financial and management reporting.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance, risk management and accountability.
• Oversee cash flow management, financial resources and working capital.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, regulatory and reporting requirements.
• Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate external and internal audits.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Lead, develop and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Drive process improvements, automation and efficiency within the finance function.
• Work closely with other business functions to support sustainable growth and operational effectiveness.
• Manage the efficient and effective auditing of the company accounts and business processes in accordance with appropriate accounting standards.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have:
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), with at least 5 years’ experience in a strategic senior financial management role.
• Significant senior-level finance management experience, preferably at CFO, Finance Director, Financial Director or equivalent level.
• Strong experience in foreign exchange, remittances, banking, financial services or a related regulated environment.
• Demonstrable experience in financial strategy, financial controls, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and governance requirements within a financial services environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into practical business decisions.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
