About
Nzeve Deaf Centre (PVO 22/2005), based in Sakubva, Mutare is an organisation of Deaf and hearing people working towards the Deaf community being valued in an inclusive society. Nzeve is based in Mutare but works throughout Manicaland, working with children and youth with disabilities and their families. Nzeve requires a Head of Programmes who will report to the Director.

Purpose of the job
This job exists to contribute to strategic leadership to the organisation. To develop and manage the programme team to achieve the mission of Nzeve, through programme development, effective coordination, consolidation, technical support, and guidance. Ensure a cohesive team spirit and motivation to perform so every programme is delivered successfully and adds the highest possible value to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job description
Implementation of programmes: Develops sustainable project plans aligned to Nzeve’s vision, mission statement and strategic pillars, relevant global and national policies; Coordinates programmes team and processes to deliver projects on time; Ensures budgetary objectives are met; Works with programmes team to identify and manage any risks.

Project monitoring and reporting: Oversees M&E, programmes teams and departments to ensure quality delivery of projects; Ensures tools, techniques and documentation procedures are in place to track progress based on project plans; Prepares reports for management teams, and the Board regarding status of programmes; Compiles regular reports according to donor and key stakeholder requirements.

Stakeholder management, coordination, and liaison: Supports and coordinates programmes teams to manage the relationships and communication with stakeholders and beneficiary groups; Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders; Act as a point of liaison between the project teams and the executive; Participates in meetings and conferences with other NGO’s and stakeholders as required.

Knowledge management and innovation: Conducts analysis of impact from lessons learned; Assists in the development of key messages for advocacy and visibility of the organisation’s activities and impact; Coordinates the development and collection of learning; Identifies and recommends learning opportunities for staff capacity development; Supports the director in the review and development of project proposals, and strategic plans.

Ability in at least one national language; Knowledge of sign language an added advantage; Willingness to learn or advance Sign language; Demonstrates excellent presentation skills, expressing self in a clear and concise manner; Demonstrates positive verbal, non-verbal communication, and body language and ability to adapt communication techniques to accommodate the situation; Ability to make good use of various communication platforms – meetings, conferences, and social media to promote positive messages about children and persons with disability, and their families.
