The Salvation Army – Howard Mission Hospital Deadline: 16 October 2020 Reporting to: Programmes Coordinator Background The Salvation Army-Howard Mission Hospital is a registered faith based organization providing clinical and social services to marginalized communities in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe. The organization is committed to improve the wellbeing of people through quality health care, child protection and household economic empowerment. A dedicated team of experts with a mix of unique talent is helping the organization in addressing the community's connected challenges. Job Responsibilities Monitor attendance, retention and progression of all learners; Invoice and receipt collection, facilitating signing of partner agreements; Ensure all documents are stamped; Provide schools with updated learner lists, proof of payments and trackers; Plan verification schedule and produce verification checklists; Facilitate payment of tuition and exam fees within the respective timelines; Maintain, keep records and follow-up on all learners; Link leaners for other needed services to other service providers and community support; Communicate with Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education on issues identified during monitoring; Work hand in hand with case management team and community cadres to identify children eligible for support and any child protection concerns; Produce monthly verification and quarterly reports; Submit of verification tools to MEAL department for checking upon return from field; Document success stories in the education domain.
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Social Science or related field; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience of implementing USAID/Pepfar OVC interventions; Experience of Education and HIV/AIDS program planning and implementation at the community, district and provincial levels working in an NGO sector is a prerequisite. Extensive education support programming is preferred; Knowledge of USAID-Perpfar OVC guidelines and policies is an added advantage. Personal Skills: Observation, active listening and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment; Good relationship management skills with ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural teams; Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members; Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities; Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented.
