Duties and Responsibilities

What the job entails:
• Be involved in the Health and safety management System and the environmental management System implementation in his/her section
• Complete electrical maintenance works with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance works.
• Install new equipment and carry out upgrades
• Implements the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) actions / tasks.
• Implements the applicable Environmental Management System (EMS) actions/tasks.
• Implements the lockout tag out try out (LOTOTO) procedure and other Lafarge safety requirements.
• Closes out all actions identified through VPCs, near miss reports, RCAs, HSE audits and inspections as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor.
• Implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all routine works in his/her Section.
• Proposes actions to reduce electrical energy consumption in the Plant.
• Does MV switching and isolation up to 33kV
• Fills in maintenance checklists and completes quality control forms for work done
• Assists in training of apprentices
• Records energy meter readings to monitor electricity usage plant-wide

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
• Holder of a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in cement or heavy manufacturing industry.
Key Competencies:
• Class 1 tested
• Computer literacy
• Basic understanding of the Factories and Works Act, Trade Measures Act and Labour Act
