Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant position:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIANS X2
The successful candidate will be responsible for,
- Inspection of premises
- Instituting prevention and control measures in pest infected areas
- Identification and mitigation of environmental hazards
- Inspection of schools and screening school children for diseases
- Analysing and taking actions on weekly disease notification at clinics
- Health talks and education
- Supervising spray men during malaria programme and training for spray men.
- Water quality control
- Supervising waste management
- Inspection of homesteads for health and hygiene
- Liaise with government departments such as EMA and Ministry of Health and Child Welfare
- Any other dutiesas may be assigned by the head of department from time to time
Qualifications
To meet the requirements of the job, the incumbent must,
- Hold a Degree in Environmental Health
- Have three years’experience in similar working environment
- Be registered with the Environmental Health Professions Council and have a valid practising certificate.
