Job Summary

Location : Beitbridge
Type of contract : Fixed term duration with a probation period
Immediate Supervisor : Project Medical Responsible
Starting Date : February 2023
Objective of the Post
Implementing and supervising health promotion activities according to MSF values, standards and procedures in order to increase awareness of migrant population and to promote prevention and treatment of diseases in the project area.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Requirements
• With technical support of HP referent and PMR, take lead in designing/ reviewing HP strategies for the respective project locations (Beitbridge, Tongogara Refugee Camp, and Plumtree) aligned to the overall medical strategies and objectives.
• Take lead in developing/ reviewing HP materials
• With technical support of HP referent, take lead in conducting community assessment/ survey from designing to reporting.
• Provide technical input in overall medical strategies from health promotion/ patient centredness aspects
• Assess needs of beneficiaries and share it with PMR to make the services beneficiary-centred.
• Organizing, training, and supervising the HP team in terms of planning and organizing their work, supporting, evaluating and coaching of personnel
• Supervise HP officers and all project health promotion and patient support activities

Qualifications and Experience

Educational and Professional Background
• Essential diploma/degree in health promotion, social sciences or education/pedagogy / or social work
• Essential working experience, minimum 2years in health promotion activities, or training-education activities
• Behavioural flexibility and availability to respond to emergencies
• Good negotiation, communication, teamwork, interpersonal & management skills
• Motivation to work in an international/inter-cultural context & humanitarian team spirit
• High flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
