Country Background CRS has been supporting program activities in Zimbabwe since 1989 and has long-standing relationships with Church and non-Church partners and communities throughout the country. Zimbabwe program implements projects through 7 local partners in 22 districts in the areas of health, OVC, education, food security and agricultural livelihoods, and peacebuilding. Job Summary: As a member of the Shelter and WASH project team, you will be responsible for ensuring construction quality and inspection of progress for all construction projects in assigned locations. You will also monitor and report on all construction activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and the vulnerable communities. Your attention to detail will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and adheres to construction quality standards and local building codes for the benefit and safety of those we serve. You will assist the partner to implement the program and help strengthen their capacity in Shelter and WASH facilities construction, through training, mentorship, and sharing of knowledge and skills. Roles and Responsibilities Work closely with the implementing in identification and strengthening of EHTs and VHWs on hygiene promotion activities. Lead in the construction of 100 latrines in assigned locations Prepare field reports and maintain a filing system for proper and efficient project documentation of Hygiene promotion activities in the operational wards (26,27,28,29,30 and 33). Work closely with Partner on registration of VHWS on hygiene promotion activities. Mainstream Protection, Gender, accountability, Inclusivity and COVID-19 according to WHO guidelines in all project activities Monitor Latrine usage and maintenance Establish and train 12 WMCs with 5 Members per committee Work closely with the partner on project material storage and distributions Coordinate with other CRS departments concerning all aspects of the project implementation.

Work/Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or relevant field experience .. Thorough knowledge of local building codes and design standards Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook Access– and ideally MS Project). Fluency in English with good verbal and written communication skills Effective inter-personal skills, consensus-building. Planning and organization skills and analytical approach. Demonstrated experience of integrity and professionalism Personal Skills Strong observation, active listening and analytical skills. Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities. Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented. Creative, highly flexible and able to adapt and improvise when unexpected changes and challenges occur. Ability to live and work in remote locations and under minimal supervision. Required/Desired Foreign Language Nil Travel Required 100% to field locations Key Working Relationships: Supervisory: Local VHWS and EHTS (60) Internal: WASH Project Manager (Shelter & WASH), other CP Program/Project Managers, Operations Staff External: CRS implementing partners (Caritas Mutare), other NGOs, government departments, target communities
