Maternal Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) Manager Mutare Job Description To provide MCHN technical and managerial support to the project. To ensure successful implementation of a comprehensive strategy on maternal child health and nutrition interventions to reduce food insecurity in two provinces (Masvingo and Manicaland) of Zimbabwe Key duties and Responsibilities • Liaises with DCOP and discusses project details (strategy, budgets,) • Prepares food security and nutrition strategies in line with project work plan • Provides technical backstopping on food security and nutrition to program staff and partners • Conducts process monitoring to the Districts on child nutrition and maternal health and WASH • Liaises with Gender and Social Inclusion Lead to ensure gender equity in MCHN and WASH • Develops recipes using locally available foods • Develops and facilitates implementation of strategies to increase dietary diversity at HH level such as behaviour communication for change (bcc) working closely with the Social Behaviour Change and Communication Lead • Oversees the establishment and training of care groups in order to address issues that affect maternal and child health • Facilitates care groups to deliver messages on Infant & Young Child Feeding and maternal nutrition • Supports the engagement of community leaders, fathers, grandmothers on nutrition, time burden and gender parity in decision making • Liases with the Community Visioning Lead to ensure communities generate Community Action Plans through Community Visioning process. • Identifies and tracks nutrition indictors and contributes to the development of project monitoring tools • Supports Ministry of Health and Child Care in conducting nutrition related surveys • Inputs into the development of SoWs for nutrition and gender related studies • Reviews and inputs into the consortia led consolidated donor report • Reviews project food and nutrition strategies with all stakeholders and project staff • Trains and coaches project staff on MCHN and WASH • Develops and Reviews monitoring tools for sharing with key partners and stakeholders • Provides technical guidance to support programmes e.g. Infant and Young Child Feeding, related Maternal Nutrition to Ministry of Health and Child Care in districts of operation • Conducts field monitoring visits to project sites to check on the level of integration • Coordinates learning visits with project partner organisations • Liaise with local government officials and coordination committees (Civil Protection Units and FSNCs), local NGOs and civil society organizations, local religious leaders and other stakeholders to ensure support for and acceptance of the Program activities • Coordinate all consortia partner activities on resilience in all the four districts of operation working with Technical Leads and district coordinators. • Maintain close working relationships with donors, other humanitarian and development organizations, and local partners, including representing Takunda at local coordination meetings as assigned • Reviews and ensures that all PARs for project staff are submitted to Finance; • Develop staff on overall project objectives, implementation strategy, reporting systems and internal controls • Monitors the overall welfare of staff , ongoing evaluation of staff identifies performance strengths and deficiencies, and arranges for necessary action • Contributes to the development of project PREP documents such as proposals, results framework, budgets, Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and other project documents as required and inputs into the consortium level and sector level (SO) planning (monthly, quarterly and annually). • Prepares monthly and quarterly forecasts and implements project activities in line with budget • Reviews project expenditure reports on a monthly basis and donor reports monthly and quarterly and provides feedback to Finance • Discusses performance against the budget with the DCOP and the Project Accountant and takes corrective action • Approves project expenditure in line with budget and approval limits in compliance with donor requirements and internal policies • Ensures that IASC core principles and Safeguarding standards are met and maintained accordingly during project planning and implementation. Work/Educational Requirements

• Degree in Nutrition/Public Health or equivalent with 4-5 years’ experience in Nutrition or related programmes • Demonstrated experience developing and ensuring quality control for technically rigorous, food security integration and collaboration, particularly for sub-grantees and implementation awards. • Experience in addressing constraints and limitations and building capacity in systems supporting food security , nutrition and agriculture, in particular: government systems, market systems and community based participatory governance related to resources and development processes. • Demonstrated understanding of current food and nutrition security and resilience strategic directions and trends in Zimbabwe. • Previous management experience on a MYAP, DFAP, or USAID-funded program is an added advantage • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning • Experience with emergency food security programming is an advantage. • Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the importance of gender and youth issues in food security and nutrition programming. • Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity and Diversity, as evidenced in previous positions / programming. • Demonstrated experience with guiding and mentoring staff as well as experience managing a team of technical specialists in a consortium set up.. • Demonstrated strong management and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to network, communicate, and build/maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. • Excellent, high-level, demonstrated written and oral communications skills in English is required.
