Position: Operations Graduate Intern
Closing Date: 26 February 2023
Location: Harare for approximately 10 months
Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence, and neutrality
MSF Zimbabwe is looking to fill recruit Operations graduate Intern based in Harare with possible travel to projects. Reporting to the Country Representative and the Country Medical Representative, the intern will learn through supporting Operations Research and Country Representative activities;
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparing research documents and files for submission to ERBs
• Support the implementation of research studies in the field
• Support the Country Medical Representative on responding to questions from ERBs
• Assisting in drafting and preparing official documents and papers as assigned by the Country Representative
• Involvement in scanning for emergencies threatening public health
• Participating in emergency responses, as and when they occur
• Supporting field activities as assigned by the Country Representative and the Country Medical Representative
• Offer operational support to other departments and projects, as assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Person Specification
• First degree graduate in a Social Sciences discipline, with exposure to research work
Skills
• Research exposure and Microsoft office suite proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills competencies
• Strong English writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Passion and commitment to humanitarian work and values
• Results and quality oriented, teamwork and cooperation, behavioural flexibility
• Ability and readiness to learn

• Strong organisational skills, energy and enthusiasm; cross cultural awareness
• Service oriented; analytical thinker, pay attention to detail
