Program Coordinator - SRHR/DRR (Manicaland Program Area)

Reporting to the Program Area Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination, implementation and day-to-day management of the Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Services (SRHR) for Girls and Young Women in Manicaland Province project activities in accordance with Plan’s grants policies. The job holder also provides specialist guidance and support on Plan’s SRHR and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programs in line with the approved Program Area (PA) annual plan, risk management frameworks and strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project quality
• Manages the Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Services for Girls and Young Women in Manicaland Province project in the Mutare and Chipinge Districts in line with the approved project proposal
• Ensures that all grant activities, indicators and objectives are successfully met within the project timeframe and allocated budget
• Carries out the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with relevant agencies, partners and Plan staff.
• Provides technical support to the PA on issues relating to the Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Services for Girls and Young Women
• Facilitates the integration and synergizing of the project activities with other relevant Plan program activities.
• Facilitates the participation of children in the planning, implementation of the SRHR/DRR project.
• Ensures that the project adheres to international standards of humanitarian programming such as the Sphere and Core Humanitarian Standards, PSEA and Code of Conduct
• Establishes child-friendly feedback and complaints mechanisms and ensures that community feedback is attended to within reasonable timeframes
Budget control
• Ensures the project budget is managed efficiently and effectively and spending is in accordance with the project approved budget and annual plans.
• Ensures the project records are properly kept and maintained as per Plan guidelines and donor requirements.
Timely grant reporting
• Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and narrative reports as per the project reporting requirements, based on the project strategies, goals and objectives and as per agreed reporting format.

• Network with organizations working within the same sector and disseminate information within and outside the organization in relation to the SRHR projects.
• Identify opportunities for cooperation with government departments and other development agencies in the district

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming
Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Health promotion, Nursing, Public Health or relevant discipline
• A minimum of 3 years community development exposure in health programming
• Demonstrable experience in project proposal writing, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Demonstrable experience and ability at networking with Donor Agencies and other NGOs.
• Experience in training staff and ability to provide training in health programming issues.
• Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of child-rights programming
• Knowledge of DRR and inclusion of SRHR in DRR programming
• Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
• Excellent networking and partnership building skills
• Good communication, facilitation and report writing skills
• Strong team-building and motivational skills
• Strong negotiating, strategic thinking and influencing skills

• Demonstrates clear respect to all and especially children without discrimination
• Ability to develop, motivate and coach and mentor others
• Promotes high quality SRHR programs
• Promotes innovation and learning on SRHR programming
