Project Coordinator Reporting to Research, Innovation, Partnership and Learning Specialist Overall Responsibility The Project Coordinator is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the fieldwork of the Zvatinoda! Phase I intervention project, an OPHID research partnership with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Ministry of Health and Child Care. This project is investigating the feasibility and evaluation of an intervention to increase young people’s demand for and use of sexual and reproductive health services and increase the availability of high-quality youth-friendly health services in Zimbabwe. The Project Coordinator is based in Mutare district and will report to OPHID’s Research, Innovation, Partnership and Learning (RIPL) Specialist. The feasibility study may use mobile phone platforms to help facilitate access to information and peer/ social support. The project coordinator’s role will require supporting co-development of the intervention using participatory methods together with study partners. The project coordinator will manage formation and implementation of discussion groups and oversee monitoring of discussion groups and encouraging engagement and provision of accurate information and referral to health services. Reporting to the RIPL the Project Coordinator works closely with the OPHID Families and Communities for the Elimination of HIV team at central office and provincial office and the MOHCC Provincial and District Health Teams.

Work/Educational Requirements

Requirements ü Bachelor degree in a Social Science ü Fluent Shona speaker ü At least 3 years’ experience as a field officer ü Previous research experience ü Basic counselling and interviewing skills ü Good communication and interpersonal skills ü Knowledge and experience of SRH and HIV services in Zimbabwe ü Good written and oral English ü Good knowledge of MOHCC registers, data and indicators relating to HIV and nutrition and experience in M&E and data collection and analysis ü Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Added Advantage ü Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification. ü Experience in facilitating discussion groups with young people ü Experience in working with mobile platforms for provision of health information and/or data collection Attributes ü Ability to work in a team and form productive, supportive and professional relationships with all colleagues ü Organized self-starter, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision ü Honest, conscientious and reliable ü Strong work ethic coupled with enthusiastic and passionate approach to work ü High degree of professionalism and integrity and ability to demonstrate good judgment, discretion and confidentiality at all times ü Good problem solving skills, with attention to detail ü Well organised and able to plan effectively and efficiently
