Strategic Information and Evaluation Specialist (SIES) Reporting to:Chief of Party Location:Harare Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract Position summary This position is contingent upon grant award. The Strategic Information and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for identifying and setting project targets to track and present data that monitor progress. The SIES works with MOHCC/NMCP and partners to improve the timeliness, completeness, and quality of malaria surveillance data through the various MOHCC reporting systems. S/he also works with MOHCC/NMCP and partners to create a small cadre of experts with competency in data analysis and presentation. S/he supports ZAPIM II staff to carry out periodic assessments, reviews, and studies. The SIES will also present malaria control and elimination data to program staff, policy makers and donors.
Work/Educational Requirements
A quantitative bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, M&E AND a completed program in health sciences/public health/, OR A bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, operations research, AND a completed program in a quantitative area (M&E, biostatistics) A master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, M&E, demography or similar Minimum of 10 years’ experience and demonstrated practical skills in monitoring health programs, with emphasis on malaria control programs Demonstrate working knowledge of the Health Management Information System and experience of supporting ministry of health national and decentralized levels on strategic information or monitoring and evaluation within Zimbabwe or an African setting Competency and experience in public health data compilation and high-level analysis using various software packages such as Advanced Excel, R, Jupyter, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Epi-Info. Experience in geographic information system programs, tools, and applications, such as QGIS Experience in programming with Access and structured query language will be an added advantage Experience working with multiple stakeholders and familiarity with USAID indicators and reporting requirements will be preferred
