Humanitarian Programme and Policy Intern: ActionAid Zimbabwe

ActionAid Zimbabwe is a global justice organization working in over 40 countries, taking sides with people living in poverty and exclusion to achieve social justice, poverty eradication and gender equality. ActionAid Zimbabwe has articulated a strong stand on gender justice and safeguarding through its child protection and anti-sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse policies. ActionAid is committed to taking an intersectional feminist approach to Safeguarding, recognizing how forms of abuse and oppression intersect.
The intern shall function collaboratively as a member of the Humanitarian Programme and Policy team and will assist the Programme to scale up and manage AAZ’s emergency programmes, ensuring linkages between advocacy, policy, and programming to increase impact and enable positive change. AAZ’s humanitarian work hinges on its humanitarian signature of women and youth led community-based emergency response, accountability and resilience building.
The Intern must have: Bachelor’s degree Disaster Management / Social Sciences / Development Studies or relevant field; 1 year industrial attachment in humanitarian context or related field is key; The Intern must: Have the ability to work under pressure and good interpersonal and relationship skills, Be fluent in both oral and written English, Have good written and spoken communication skills, Be well groomed and presentable, Support and maintain cordial working relations with the staff and Partners.
