Job Description

LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR (1 POST) FOR BACHELOR OF COMMERCE HONOURS DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING – DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING, FINANCE AND HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to teach courses in the following areas: Accounting Concepts and Principles, Financial Reporting, Cost and Management Accounting, Practical Accounting Data Processing, Financial Management, Public Sector Accounting, Strategic Management Accounting, Accounting Information Systems Public Sector Accounting 2, Advanced Financial Reporting, Auditing and Taxation. The candidate must also be able to supervise students’ research, actively participate in research and contribute to innovations in the University.

Qualifications and Experience

The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with at least an Upper Second Class (2.1) pass from a recognized institution and a Master’s Degree in Accounting. A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA will be a distinct advantage. A PhD in this field is an added advantage. The candidate must have at least 2 years lecturing experience at tertiary institution level with a clear record of successful research, publications and supervision of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
