Job Summary

A vibrant Microfinance Institution is looking for an experienced, detailed oriented and results driven Financial Accountant to join our growing institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compile and consolidate budgets such for adoption by Executive Management and the Board.
• Preparation of financial statements and consolidated management accounts.
• Offer guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement and profit maximization.
• Maintaining the asset register and consolidation of the same.
• Reconcile the general ledger.
• Bank Reconciliations for all Banks.
• Payroll Management.
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the accounting system.
• Assist during financial annual audits.
• Maintain financial files and records.
• Report financial performance to the Board.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns for submission to ZIMRA in line with set deadlines.
• Take up the Board Secretarial role.

Qualifications and Experience

• BSc in Accounting, Finance and or other relevant industry qualifications.
• A professional qualification e.g., CIMA, C.I.S, IAC, ACCA will be an added advantage.
• Should be familiar with accounting software packages.
• Proven ability to support Principal Officer of the Board.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including GAAP.
• At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Highly developed organizational skills.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills that can be used when making critical decisions.
• A high level of proven Financial management ability.
• Highly developed level of strategic thinking, communication skills, exceptional integrity and data presentation skills.
• Significant experience of reporting at Board level and management role an added advantage.
