The Help desk serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or e-mail, performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Help Desk Support
Provide first line response for users with ICT related technical issues and problems
Respond to technical assistance requests by phone or e-mail or using a help desk management system.
Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and/or use of pertinent questions.
Escalate more involved problems to the appropriate tier 2 and tier 3 support teams.
Logging in all reported issues and updating status reports in the help desk system.
Maintaining the helpdesk database, software and hardware inventory
Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams
Provide a single view to the organization for ICT related problems
Liaise with external service providers
Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Degree in IT/Computer Science or related field
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
Excellent communication skills.
User training skills.
Technical skills: PC troubleshooting, e-mail troubleshooting, data network issues troubleshooting, printer troubleshooting and any other relevant software application troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
