About WCoZ


Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ), is a network of women’s rights activists and women’s rights organizations in Zimbabwe with national structures established in 1999. WCoZ brings women from diverse backgrounds to advocate for the attainment and enjoyment of their socio-economic and political rights, and ensure that the women and girls empowerment agenda remains central to the national agenda.

Background to the consultancy

Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) is working on an intervention which seeks to amplify Young Women’s Voice for Equality and Non-Discrimination’. The intervention focuses on coordinating and facilitating young women’s movement building and galvanizing collective advocacy to respond to new and emerging issues that affect young women.


Tasks under this consultancy


WCoZ intends to build the capacities of young women as young leaders in the aforementioned project areas and as such WCoZ seeks to engage a consultant to develop a Young Women’s Leadership Handbook and to further facilitate the training sessions during the winter leadership school.

In carrying out this work, the Consultant shall develop and submit: A final detailed inception report outlining the consultant’s understanding of the assignment and the approach to be employed. This should include the proposed structure of the handbook and trainings; The 1st and final drafts of the Handbook and Training materials which will be reviewed by WCoZ; A power-point presentation which summarizes the Handbook and Training methodology


Deliverables


The key deliverables shall be: A Young Women’s Leadership Training Handbook; Training materials and methodology for the training; Conducting training of the young women; A consolidated report of the training.

Specific timelines to be discussed with successful candidate.

Expected qualifications, experience of the consultant

The consultant should have a Masters’ Degree in Development Studies, Gender Studies, Social Science, or any relevant fields. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in gender, leadership and youth/young women participation.

It will also detail work-plan, including dates for when specific tasks will be done. The EOI should also include a detailed budget, indicating a breakdown of all costs for conducting this work such as consultancy daily rate. The EOI must not exceed five pages. Applications should also include the following: Cover letter summarizing the applicant’s skills and past experience relevant to conducting the outlined SOW; Detailed CV(s)/resume(s), with names of three referees and their contact details (email and phone); At least two recent samples similar to that called for in this SOW for which the applicant was a lead author
