QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
? Degree in Auditing and or Accounting, from a recognized university
? Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
? Membership of the Institute of Auditors/Public Accountants
? Computer literacy
? Clean class 4 driver’s license
? Sound knowledge of the operations of Local Authorities
? The mature individual is at least 30 years of age, with a clean record of service
? No criminal record
? At least 3years of post-qualification experience in a local authority or similar environment at the management level
DUTIES
? Ensure effective and efficient management of the section
? Development and implementation of the audit plan for the Council, policies and risk management
? Monitor the integrity of the systems of the local authority, and any formal announcements relating to the council’s performance, reviewing significant reporting judgments contained in them
? Review the council’s internal controls and, risk management systems
? Monitor and review the effectiveness of the council’s internal audit function
? Assist external auditors to effectively carry out their review function
? Ensure that all audit reports and recommendations are implemented
