Country Background CRS has been supporting program activities in Zimbabwe since 1989 and has long-standing relationships with Church and non-Church partners and communities throughout the country. Zimbabwe program implements projects through local partners in the areas of health, OVC, education, food security and agricultural livelihoods, and peacebuilding. Job Summary: As a member of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, you will provide support to Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) project activities serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve. Job Responsibilities: Supports compliance with agency and donor MEAL requirements. Provides technical lead for quality MEAL design, including tools and methods, appropriate to scope, context and technical requirements of the project. Supports the planning and undertaking baseline surveys, mid-term surveys and end of project evaluations to track project progress and impact Ensures quality data collection and management activities Integrates data analysis, reflection and interpretation and use with ongoing projects’ activities. Works with MEAL staff to incorporate the use of ICT4D into data collection, analysis, presentation, reporting and storage. Leads simple analyses and reflective discussions on ongoing project monitoring data Documents and disseminates initial findings and field-based insights to project discussions Promotes honesty and integrity in the work of MEAL officers. Contributes initial findings and field-based insights to project discussions. Fosters respectful relationships with community members and stakeholders Identify staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and contribute to capacity strengthening and required interventions to support quality project implementation. Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, contribute to the recruitment process of project staff, and complete performance management for direct reports. Provide financial management assistance for MEAL activities as necessary or when required.

Work/Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Development Studies or relevant field. Minimum 3 years of experience relevant to job responsibilities. Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis experience and skills with proven ability to work with statistical software such as SPSS. Experience in GIS mapping. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook; and SPSS or other similar software. Personal Skills Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment. Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively with culturally diverse groups. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to write reports. Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented. Required/Desired Foreign Language Nil Travel Required (Willingness to travel 20-30% or more to field locations)
