Job Summary

Ecorys is running the Stopping Abuse and Female Exploitation (SAFE) programme in Zimbabwe. It is is an integrated programme that intends to reduce the prevalence of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). The GBV and Economic Empowerment Officer will lead and coordinate implementation of the economic empowerment output of the programme design (the Internal Savings And Lending approach) by working closely and collaboratively with the Implementing partners and the SAFE team in deepening integration with the GBV prevention and response outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities

The GBV and Economic Empowerment Officer will be the key focal person for the economic empowerment output, working directly and collaboratively with the GBV lead in integrating this output (ISAL approach) with the social empowerment (Toose) and the response outputs. The GBV and Economic Empowerment Officer will demonstrate a strong analytical understanding of the linkages among the three strands in order to draw learnings and insights that contribute into the body of evidence and knowledge for the SAFE programme to inform learning and adaptations. The GBV Officer will also work collaboratively with the MERL Lead in ensuring that an appropriate MERL approach and tools are in place to collect data that deepen learning on opportunities and gaps of the ISAL approach as part of the holistic integrated approach of the SAFE prevention model

Qualifications and Experience

? At minimum a Master’s degree level in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Public Health, development studies or any related discipline (or equivalent in experience).
? At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar role in the NGO sector.
? Working Knowledge of economic empowerment interventions like ISALs, IGAs etc.
? Working Knowledge of the GALS (Gender Action Learning System) approach.
? Knowledge and demonstrable understanding of the GBV space in Zimbabwe, in particular the NGO sector.
? Experience in Community Level Interventions and working with community level implementing partners.
? Experience in capacity Building and mentoring implementing partners, in particular Community based Organisations.
? Experience in facilitating training workshops.
? Proven ability in writing a variety of documents including reports, presentations, and training materials
