VACANCY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions that have arisen within City of Kwekwe.
VALUATIONS OFFICER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To value for rating all ratable properties.
2. Preparation of General Valuation and Supplementary rolls.
3. Attending to registration of servitudes on Council Properties.
4. Carrying out of valuation in conjunction with external valuers appointed by Council.
5. Advising Council on the acquisition and disposal of real estate property.
6. Administration of the Council and bank.
7. Dealing with any valuation enquires.
8. Identifies Council owned properties, keeping the lease registers and doing periodic lease renewals and rent reviews.
9. Values plant and machinery on request.
10. Assesses applications and complaints received on rates charged and rates exemptions and recommends the correct position to Council.
11. Checks the land use changes which affect the value of the property and subsequently the rates.
12. Inspects new/structural altered and extensions or demolished buildings for revaluation to ensure rates charged are in tandem with the value of the building and location.
13. Fixing selling prices for land sales
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Commerce in Real Estate Management/
Bachelor of Science in Property Development and Estate Management/
Bachelor of Science in Real Estate/
Bachelor of Science (Hons) Real Estate Development Management/
A high qualification is an added advantage.
At least 3 years post-qualification experience.
Membership to Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe or progress towards same is a must.
At least 5 Ordinary levels including English, Accounts and Mathematics.
Knowledge of applicable software is a must.
A clean class 4 driver’s license.
