Applications are now open for the Shanghai Government Scholarship for international students for the 2023/2024 academic year. This scholarship is designed to promote international cooperation and exchanges in Shanghai education, and is open to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree students from all over the world who demonstrate outstanding intelligence.

The programme consists of two categories: A and B. Category A offers a fully-funded scholarship, which includes tuition, accommodation, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance for the duration of the scholarship. Category B provides a partial scholarship, which covers tuition and comprehensive medical insurance.

Shanghai Government Scholarship 2023-2024 | ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• To be eligible for the this scholarship, applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
• Non-Chinese nationals who are in good health must apply. Age and education background:
• Applicants for undergraduate programs must have a high school degree or higher and be under the age of 25; those applying for master's programs must have a bachelor's degree or higher and be no older than 35; and those applying for PhD programs must have a master's degree or higher, demonstrate academic research ability, and be no older than 40. Applicants who are under the age of 23 and possess a high school diploma should obtain a letter of pre-admission from a university in Shanghai in order to be eligible for the pre-college
• Outstanding in academic performance.
• Language proficiency
• Generally, the applicant should achieve the Chinese level of HSK4 and meet the language requirements of the applied university and program.
• Meeting entry requirements of the applied university and program.
• Applicant that has received any other scholarships offered by the Chinese government or organizations is not entitled to apply SGS.
