The Payroll Chief Accounting Assistant will be expected to assist the Payroll Accountant in following duties:
Prepare and process monthly payroll for academic, administrative, and support staff.
Capture and update employee payroll information, including appointments, promotions, transfers, allowances, and terminations.
Verify payroll input data before processing.
Ensure timely payment of salaries, wages, allowances, and benefits.
Calculate and process PAYE in accordance with Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) requirements.
Process NSSA contributions and ensure timely remittance.
Administer pension contributions and medical aid deductions.
Ensure compliance with labour legislation and government regulations affecting payroll administration.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
Archive payroll documentation according to university policies and statutory requirements.
Supervise Payroll Clerks and Accounting Assistants within the payroll section.
Provide guidance and training on payroll procedures and systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
At 5 O’ Levels passes including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts;
A HEXCO National Diploma/Part B CIS/ACCA Stage 2/CIMA Level 2 or equivalent;
At least two years relevant post qualification experience.
