Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for pre packing and issue prescribed medications to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Pharmacist. Track Stock levels, monitor expiry dates and ensure the proper storage conditions .Explainig dosage instructions, frequency and basic side effects of drugs to patients. Updating daily dispensary registers and electronic stock systems. Maintaining of hygiene in the pharmacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Duties
1. Pre pack and issue prescribed medications to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Pharmacist.
2. Track Stock levels, monitor expiry dates and ensure the proper storage conditions for sensitive drugs.
3. Explain dosage instructions, frequency and basic side effects of drugs to patients.
4. Updating daily dispensary registers and electronic stock systems.
5. Maintaining of hygiene in the pharmacy.
Qualifications and Experience
1. At least 5 Ordinary Levels including English and Mathematics.
2. A HEXCO recognized dispensary assistant / pharmaceutical certificate or the equivalent.
3. At least one-year practical experience working in a medical dispensary unit, clinic or retail pharmacy.
